LISTEN: Opposition parties criticise replacement of presidential jet

Some opposition parties are criticising the planned move to replace the current presidential jet with one set to cost roughly R300-million.

Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula says the purchase is as good as a done deal.


She says President Jacob Zuma currently has to charter private jets at a set-aside cost of R100-million - due to the poor condition of the current jet, Inkwazi.

Cope's Dennis Bloem says there's nothing wrong with the current aircraft:

The IFP's Albert Mncwango says the money should rather be used for other more pressing matters.
