LISTEN: Kaunda, Graham nominated for eThekwini mayor
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The eThekwini council have started voting for a mayor after a raucous start to Wednesday's sitting.

The two nominations were taken from the floor on Wednesday afternoon.
Listen below:
Earlier, newly-elected council speaker, Thabani Nyawose opened the meeting with an apology for the delays and disruptions that took place when the meeting initially took place on Monday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
That meeting had to be adjourned after African National Congress (ANC) supporters stormed it and the venue was hit by a sudden power outage.
Members of the ANC have requested a change to it's EXCO candidates.
The Democratic Alliance's (DA) Nicole Graham says it cannot be discussed as it is not in the agenda.
"The ANC are entitled to put however they want on EXCO but that matter has been concluded and if they wish to make changes to that matter - the composition of EXCO they must make those representations to your office and a formal item must be tabled in the council. That is the process that is followed and the rules are quite clear."
The ANC's Nkosenhle Madlala says the amendment was requested due to a resignation.
"The point that we are truing to make as the ANC is that we want to get an opportunity to amend the list that was read out in this meeting, because it is the same meeting. Now the reason for that it is occasioned by the resignation of one of the EXCO members."
Nyawose then confirmed that he received the resignation.
