LISTEN: Firefighter injured as South Coast Road fire rages

Paramedics say a fireman has been hurt whilst working alongside a team to help contain a fire at a warehouse on South Coast Road, in Rossburgh.

Paramedics say everyone is accounted for on scene of the incident while medics say two have been hurt, including the firefighter.
He sustained minor burn injuries to his hand. While it's not yet clear what condition the two are in - they have been rushed to hospital.
At least a dozen fire trucks are at the scene of the fire, south of Durban, that has been raging for a few hours now.
The fire is not as intense as it was earlier but remains well alight and its thick, black smoke has now blanketed Durban.
Scores of people are trying to catch glimpses of the incident near the warehouse in Rossburgh while Durban residents from Umhlanga, to Mariannhill to Ballito say smoke has been seen in these areas.

It is believed there are some wax-type products are being housed in the building while a large stack of wooden pallets can be seen.

Meanwhile, Just after the 2pm Newswatch bulletin, Jane Linley-Thomas spoke with officials from eThekwini environmental affairs they've issued the latest advice for Durban residents concerning the massive fire in the Durban South area.
