LISTEN: Feathers ruffled as angry employees demand govt 'take back the chicken'

The KZN provincial government says it's working around the clock with all stakeholders in the poultry industry, to prevent job losses.

MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Sihle Zikalala, made the comment after some members of the Food and Allied Workers Union marched to the provincial legislature in Pietermaritzburg, yesterday.
Workers are unhappy over an increase in chicken imports - which they fear will usher in thousands of local job losses.
130 000 employees could be affected if government does not stop the dumping of chicken from the European Union.
