LISTEN: Durban residents flock to Toti after whale beaches

Hundreds of concerned Durban residents have been flocking to Pipeline beach in Amanzimtoti, south of the city after a baby whale beached this morning.

Members of the public found the whale and notified police.


UPDATE: Operation to remove baby whale from Durban beach underway


It is understood the juvenile humpback whale died before authorities reach the scene.
Authorities have spent the day trying to remove the carcass from beach.

Two bakkies and a TLB were used to try and remove the carcass, but efforts are still ongoing.
