LISTEN: Durban Metro Cops remember Inspector Johan Deysel

Colleagues of Durban Metro Police officer, Johan Deysel and members of the public have paid tribute to the 59-year-old at the site of the accident where he was killed on Friday night.

Deysel was struck by a taxi while working at a roadblock near Amanzimtoti, south of the city.
Metro Police spokesperson, Glen Ndlovu says people gathered for a prayer service yesterday.
Deysel is expected to be laid to rest this week.
Footage of the accident shows Deysel being struck by a taxi while trying to flag it down.

The driver of the taxi was arrested and is due to appear in court on charges of culpable homicide.
Deysel had been stationed at Isipingo.
