Durban Metro Cop killed at Toti roadblock

Durban Metro Police are in mourning after one of their own was killed while on duty this weekend.
Inspector Johan Deysel was struck by a taxi while trying to flag it down near Galleria in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban on Friday night.
The 59-year-old died at the scene.
Metro Police say Deysel had been part of an official operation at the time of the incident.

The vehicle failed to stop and ploughed into the officer.The 59-year-old died at the scene.
Metro spokesperson Parboo Sewpersad says Deysel had been stationed in Isipingo.
"The incident happened in front of all his colleagues. We want to convey our condolences to his immediate family, friends and relatives," said Sewpersad.

He also sent management's condolences to Deysel's colleagues in the Durban Metro Police.Police say a 22-year-old man has been arrested on charges of culpable homicide.
