Limpopo mayor shot and killed during robbery

Collins Chabane Municipality Mayor Moses Maluleke has been
shot and killed at his home.

The 56-year-old Maluleke was gunned down at his home on Thursday, while his 18-year-old son was also wounded during the incident.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says three gunmen entered Maluleke’s home in Saselamani village, demanding money from him and his son.

“When the pair could not comply with the suspects' instructions, they were allegedly shot at by the trio. The son was transported to a nearby hospital where he is receiving further medical care.
“A case of murder and attempted murder has been registered.”
Police have since activated a 72-hour-plan in pursuit of the suspects.
