Liezel de Jager family ‘elated’ at bail decision
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The decision to deny bail to the husband of slain Amanzimtoti pastor Liezel de Jager has been hailed as a win for justice.

Forty-five-year-old Werner de Jager is accused of killing Liezel, who was found strangled in their Toti home two years ago.
He's also facing fraud charges for allegedly trying to cash in on two life insurance policies after her death.
The case has been postponed to March.

The spokesperson for Liezel's family, Ian Cameron, also from Action Society, says they are elated.
"For the last three months, we have been fighting so hard to ensure he stays behind bars.
"I spoke to Liezel's mother and father, and they are so relieved about the fact that he is staying behind bars, and they are satisfied about the process, and they are grateful to the incredible team from the prosecuting authority as well as the South African Police Service."
