Level 3 regulations: What you need to know
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Cooperative Governance Minister, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has further outlined tightened regulations under Level 3 lockdown which the country has entered into again from today.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the reintroduction of the alert level as COVID-19 cases have crossed the one million mark.
Dlamini-Zuma has made it clear that the only gatherings allowed will be at funerals but not without a reduced number of people.
"We were at 100 people before in the funeral, but now we have to be 50 with sitting 1.5 metres apart. But if the venue cannot take 50 people and 1.5 metres apart, it means there has to be less and half of the capacity of the venue."

A limit in people at restaurants has also been reinstated.
"There has to be a maximum of 50 inside, whether it's a restaurant, library, gallery and sitting 1.5 metres apart. If that place is too small, then it has to be half the capacity of the venue."
Dlamini-Zuma says no alcohol will be transported unless for certain intended purposes.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says there is a link between alcohol consumption and the increase in trauma cases at hospitals.
"Every time there is a lift of the ban of alcohol, trauma increases in all the casualty departments in all hospitals and we want to really deal with the problem of availability of our human resources, hospitals and additional equipment - which will then reduce the trauma."
