Letsike challenges lawmakers in Africa on anti-LGBT laws

The ANC's National Executive member Steve Letsike says the country must work with leaders on the continent to be more accepting of the LGBTQI+ community.
She made this statement during the ANC's Power of The Queer event in Johannesburg on Friday.
Countries such as Ghana and Uganda have recently imposed strict laws against the queer community, that allow for imprisonment.

Letsike says that she is determined to challenge lawmakers in Africa.
"We have seen the pockets of growing anti-homosexuality laws in many countries. These efforts we will use all our relations in this country to converse diplomatically, we want a better Africa and that is the agenda we prepared to build on."
