KZNSA introduces new retail gallery
Decorators, collectors and art lovers can now readily purchase local artworks at the KZN Society of Arts Gallery.
The Park Contemporary Gallery, a new retail space within the Glenwood-based gallery, is being launched tomorrow.
The retail area will offer pieces by both emerging and established artists - immediately on sale.
KZNSA’s Angela Shaw says the new feature will broaden platforms for talented and promising KZN artists.
"It's going to be someone from KZN who is a skilled and accomplished artist - not necessarily a beginner - and people who are or will become collectables across all mediums. We want it to be known that this work exists. There's so much talent here but nobody can see it because it isn't represented in a place where you can view the work and get a sense of a range of talent," she says.

Shaw says this a permanent feature within the Durban complex.
"It will stay up as a retail gallery - so you will always be able to walk in and buy the art. It's going to get refreshed as work sells - new work will come in. We'll feature different scenes every three or four months," she says.
