KZN's cumulative COVID-19 deaths drop after 'typographical error'

Sixty-one more people have died, after contracting Covid-19, in the country bringing the national death toll to 18 431.

The Health Ministry has also corrected a typo in Sunday's coronavirus update saying the number of deaths recorded in KwaZulu-Natal, has now been revised down.
It says it reported 40 more deaths that it was supposed to. It's corrected KZN's number of fatalities from the virus to 3 136.
Over 1 400 new infections were registered in the last 24 hours.

The number of people diagnosed so far, has climbed to more than 705 000.
Of that figure, KZN has nearly 6 100 active cases.
The recovery rate remains steady at 90%. More than 635 000 people no longer have coronavirus.
