KZN woman to remain behind bars after allegedly suffocating her baby to death

A woman who's admitted to killing her baby remains behind bars after appearing in court.
KwaZulu-Natal police say she's facing a charge of murder - after the body of the infant was found at her home last week.

Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says: "A 23-year-old mother appeared at the Pinetown Magistrates' Court yesterday facing a charge of murder and was remanded in custody until 23 March."
"It is alleged that on 13 March, the woman came to KwaDabeka police station and informed police that she had killed her three-month-old baby girl by suffocating her with a blanket."
