A woman has been seriously hurt in a shooting incident at her home on the south coast.

Emergency services raced to the Bhomela area, near Shelly Beach earlier and found that the woman, thought to be a traffic officer, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says she was lying on the floor inside her home.
"When we arrived there, she was lying on the lounge floor in a very critical condition. Paramedics placed her on a ventilator at the scene and then transported her through to a hospital in Margate where she is receiving further treatment at the moment," he said.
