KZN's
Education MEC Mbali Frazer will visit Hillcrest High School on Thursday after
five pupils were suspended for their involvement in a racial slur
incident.
Snippets of a private WhatsApp group chat involving the pupils surfaced recently, where the K-word and N-word were used last year.
Hillcrest High's school governing body says the pupils, who've since been suspended, apologised for their actions during a disciplinary meeting.
Chair Byron Creed has denied allegations that the incident was swept under the carpet.

The department's Muzi Mahlambi says they're disappointed by the incident.
"It can be recalled that we have dealt with the same issue that Grosvenor Girl High School and we resolved that as long as there is any allegation racism we will attempt to it no matter how small it is, because normally this tends to have a grown.
“The MEC will hear for herself what transpired and from there we will come with a programme of action.”
