KZN Transport launches pothole campaign
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Department of Transport in KwaZulu-Natal says it's making serious strides in ridding the province's roads of potholes.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula recently launched a national campaign to fix potholes on provincial, regional and municipal roads.
The local leg of the campaign has now also been launched in Vryheid.
"This is more particularly important now after we had the devastating floods," says KZN Transport spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane.

"Our position is that we want to revamp the provincial road network because if the network is not in good condition, it affects the cost of going business and affects the movement of people. It also damages people's property, cars, tyres and so forth.”
Ncalane says it will be a long-term project with funding stretching over more than one financial year.
