KZN Transport Department urges motorists to drive carefully

The Department of Transport in KwaZulu-Natal is calling for road users to exercise caution, after the long weekend got off to a tragic start.

At least three people have died on the province’s roads since Friday morning and more than 40 people - including a six-week-old baby - have been injured in a series of car crashes.

This as thousands of people flocked to the coast, with Heritage Day being a public holiday tomorrow.

“As the department, we want to urge motorists to drive carefully and be extra cautious,” spokesperson Mluleki Mntungwa said.

“We have already experienced some crashes throughout the province so we want to ask road users to help us save lives," he added.
