Some N3 filling stations closed for renovations

Motorists hitting the roads this long weekend are being urged to plan their trips in advance, especially if travelling on the N3 between Estcourt and Van Reenens Pass. The N3 Toll Concession is advising holidaymakers to plan their trips as several filling stations along the route have been closed for renovations.

It says there are no filling stations along the route between Estcourt and Van Reenens.
The fuel station at Balmoral in the Free State is also closed for upgrades.
The concession is also urging motorists to be prepared for busier that usual traffic conditions.
This as thousands of people flock to KZN for the break.
More than 2 000 vehicles per hour passed through the Mooi River Toll Plaza in the Midlands yesterday afternoon.
The N3TC expects volumes to peak again on Monday afternoon - extending into the evening - when holidaymakers return to the inland provinces.
The long weekend got off to the difficult start yesterday morning when a truck overturned on Van Reenens Pass, spilling paraffin on the roadway and causing another truck to jack-knife.
