KZN to spend R500m on two road projects
The KwaZulu-Natal provincial government will spend R500 million on two major road rehabilitation projects following the devastating floods.
The Mbumbulu project will be completed in two phases.
Strategic roads connecting eThekwini's economic areas including a section of the P725 will be tarred.
The route between eNgonyameni and uMlazi section's being upgraded at a cost of R409 million.
The road connects many wards between uMbumbulu, eFolweni, eNgonyameni, uMlazi and the R603 a strategic route for the movement of goods.

Premier Sihle Zikalala says they want to make sure these projects don't drag on for longer than they're supposed to.
"One of the shortcomings that we have identified is that in most cases, we will start building roads but because of whatever reason, the project will not be completed.
"We are going to put in place tight monitoring systems to ensure that the first phase will be to construct the first five kilometers and therefore, we are going to plan and monitor that."
