KZN teen, man nabbed for possession of child pornography

This, as another Durban man has been jailed for the same offence. 

Police say the two suspects were both taken into custody on Wednesday by officers from the KZN Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.

They arrested a 17-year-old teenage boy in Margate and seized a phone - after receiving information he was in possession of illicit videos and images of children.

He's appearing in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court today.

Investigators also made their way to Hillcrest - where they apprehended a 79-year-old man for possession of child pornography. 

He is due in to appear in the Pinetown Magistrates Court on Friday.

The arrests follow yesterday's sentencing of another sexual offender from Westville.  

Twenty-four-year-old John Travis Turnham was arrested three years ago - with police seizing a phone and three hard drives from his property. 

He's been convicted of possession of child pornography - and sentenced to five years imprisonment.
