KZN Social Development warns of scammers selling jobs for R9k
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Job seekers have been warned to be aware of scammers promising jobs in KwaZulu-Natal's Department of Social Development.

Department spokesperson Mhlabunzima Memela says scammers are posing as government officials and selling jobs.
They are targeting the desperate and unsuspecting residents in areas including Ugu, Harry Gwala and Umgungudlovu districts.
"Scammers who are calling them and promising them that there are jobs to offer in the Department of Social Development and they are actually asking people to pay different (amount) of monies amounting to R9 000 and above, so that they will be able to secure permanent jobs in the department.
"That's criminal. There are no jobs for sale in the Department of Social Development."
Social Development urges those who have fallen victim to the scam to report it to the police immediately.
