KZN set for gloomy weather until Saturday
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
As the winter
weather bites in parts of the country, forecasters say KZN should brace for
chilly days ahead.
The South African Weather Service says temperatures dropped overnight, with Mooi River shivering at 1-degree Celsius and Underberg at -3.
Forecaster Thandiwe Gumede says the province should start warming up on Saturday.
In the meantime, the province will see partly cloudy weather with rain and thundershowers.

"Areas over the interior, areas like Pietermaritzburg should already be raining,” says Gumede.
“There are currently thunderstorms there, those storms will drift towards the coast possibly affecting Durban as well. Early morning, we saw some thunderstorms over Margate and currently over the north coast extending from St Lucia going up to Kosi Bay.”
Gumede says winds out at sea are set to reach gale force strength.
"With that, we are expecting the waves to also increase to about 5 metres. That will later today into tomorrow where the waves will subside again later tomorrow afternoon.”
