Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
MPLs are carrying out oversight work at some of the province's schools today.
The visits by education portfolio committee members come as most learners have just returned to school under Level 2 lockdown following a four-week break.
Committee Chairperson, Ntuthuko Jomo Sibiya says they'll be out and about over the next two days to make sure teaching and learning are happening in conducive environments.

"We want to make sure and check that our system is running smoothly but also all the necessities and the requirement that are required during level 2 of the lockdown are adhered to.
Right now because we know that we've got more learners that have come back to school, we want to check that our learners are safe, they do have the required and necessary PPE.
"We're talking about masks, sanitizers, they are social distancing, they have water and ablution facilities," he said.
