Mabuza condemns killing of farmers following KZN double murder
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Deputy President David Mabuza has condemned the violent attacks on farmers in the country's rural communities.
He says he was shocked to hear about the double murder in the northern KZN town of Newcastle, at the weekend.
Glen Rafferty, 63 and his 60-year-old wife, Vida were gunned down on their Normandien property on Saturday night.
Their bodies were discovered hours after their home was ransacked and cameras were broken.
Mabuza issued the strong condemnation in a statement saying they've been working on programmes to curb these violent attacks on farmers.

More details will be shared on Friday when Mabuza convenes an Inter-Ministerial Committee on Land Reform and Agriculture.
He's stressed the importance of the agricultural sector saying we need to value farmers, workers and farm dwellers - in our diverse country.
Mabuza says crime prevention strategies will continue to focus on farm attacks and murders, as the work between government and the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster continues.
