KZN school assault: Pupil due in court

A pupil, arrested in connection with the brutal assault of a fellow learner in Inanda. north of Durban, is due to make his first appearance in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court.
The boy’s father is believed to have handed his son over to police after they began investigating the circumstances of an online video.
The footage, which depicts a schoolboy punching and kicking a schoolgirl multiple times, caused outrage in the country last week.
The incident took place at Siyathuthuka Secondary School - apparently in November last year.

Education’s Muzi Mahlambi has confirmed that the arrest took place on Friday.
The girl has since been moved to another school.
