KZN Sadtu to meet department over payment delays
Updated | By Andile Tsotetsi
Some Grade R
teachers in KZN will return to classrooms on Monday morning without their April
salaries.

Public schools are reopening after a week-long break.
The KZN Education Department assured teachers last week that payments would be made by Friday.
Teachers' union Sadtu warned that the issue of ongoing pay delays has dragged on for too long.
"It's unfair. Remember these workers are not paid according to what they deserve [for] the work they do. But even that little that the department is supposed to pay, they are not conscience enough to ensure that everything is sorted [out] on time," said union spokesperson Nomarashiya Caluza.
She said that the union would be meeting with officials to address the problem.
"As a follow up, we have a meeting with the department during the week. We want them to take an approach and strategy on ensuring that teachers are paid at least by Thursday."
