KZN residents to use water wisely despite restrictions lifted

KZN residents will no longer be adhering to water restrictions but Umgeni Water says we still need to watch our water use.
Shami Harichunder says the system is still under considerable strain.
He says significant rainfall is only expected later in the year and during Spring - which usually marks the beginning of the rainy season.
"Projections from the experts are that we will see some rain in Spring. But it will certainly be below average. The good rains are only expected at the end of November - going into January, and February 2019. That is when the good rains are expected," he said.

Water and Sanitation lifted restrictions in parts of the province a few days ago.
Umgeni Water says 15% restrictions had been introduced for business and residential areas - 50% were imposed for the agricultural sector.
