The suspect was served with a summons to appear in court on 12 December.

KZN police's Robert Netshiunda says this follows a 2020 matter where police found guns in her home, among other things.

"This follows a November 2020 matter where police found an AK 47 assault rifle, a .22 rifle and 303 rifles, rounds of ammunition, as well as a suspected stolen vehicle engine whose number was erased during the execution of a search warrant at her house in Eshowe.

"Investigations have thus far revealed that the .22 and 303 rifles were stolen during a burglary at a house in Richmond in 2016."

The woman faces charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition as well as possession of suspected stolen property.
