eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda is hopeful that a resolution will be reached to end a three-week-long strike at Ushaka Marine World.

Disgruntled workers from the South African Municipal Workers Union shut down the Durban theme park over wage negotiation.
They are asking for a 15% pay hike.
It previously said the city failed to implement salary adjustments recommended by an audit firm eight years ago.
Speaking on Monday, Kaunda said he is involved in connecting Ushaka Marine World's board with Samwu.

"They seem to be finding each other on offerings that Ushaka Marine was also putting on the table. So, we will leave it to them to announce once they find a resolution. We are concerned about that entity, which is the biggest in the southern hemisphere."
He said the park plays an integral part in tourism and the city's economy and is now standing empty.
"We are concerned that they have been blocking entrances to those who want to visit and workers. We are have negotiating on those aspects to bring about solution and end the strike."
