The Premier's Office says Willies Mchunu has been examined in hospital after collapsing at the podium while delivering his State of the Province Address.
"We can tell you that he has been attended to. He walked from the stage on his own and into his car. The Health MEC, who is a doctor, together with the Health HOD have taken him to the nearest hospital to ensure that he is okay. The premier is okay ns he is alive. He walked to his car and not into an ambulance," premier's spokesperson Thami Ngidi said.
Mchunu was a couple of minutes into his speech when he suddenly appeared weak.
