The manager is alleged to have defrauded the bank of around R3-million.

The 35-year-old suspect is said to have helped bank clients apply for loans using fraudulent documents.

Once the loans were approved, he would allegedly demand a fee of between R30 000 and R40 000 from each client.

"He would let the clients submit fraudulent documents to apply for personal loans from the bank and the total amount the bank has lost amounts to about R3-million. The arrest emanated from the thorough investigation conducted by the police and the bank's forensic investigating team," Mbele said.
