KZN police are searching for a gang of armed robbers that
attacked the office of the Road Traffic Inspectorate in Eshowe.

The four men tied up a security guard before storming the premises on Sunday.
"The suspects broke into the premises where they stole 11 firearm safes, five firearms, 135 rounds of ammunition and ten vehicle keys with their respective petrol cards before they fled the scene," says provincial police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele.
"A case of business robbery has been opened at Eshowe SAPS for further investigation."

Meanwhile, KZN Transport MEC Peggy Nkonyeni says another security guard was attacked by criminals at a Department of Transport office in Rossburgh, south of Durban.
She says this led to the temporary closure of the testing station over the weekend.
Nkonyeni has described the recent attacks on state institutions as worrying.
