KZN officials pay respects to family of murdered chief

Officials from the KwaZulu-Natal House of Traditional Leaders on Friday visited the home of slain Induna, Henry Shandu.
Shandu was shot and killed on Tuesdays, allegedly by a man who had called him to discuss a land matter in Mandeni.
Shandu was a member of the Mathonsi Mandeni Traditional Council.

Provincial chairperson of the House, Inkosi Sisipho Shinga, has reiterated their call for heightened security for traditional leaders.
"We need to strengthen protection of all the traditional leaders in their homesteads; even when they’re doing their work. Induna is not supposed to be alone. There must always be someone [with them], especially when Induna is allocating the sites."
