KZN officers urged to wear safety vests
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KwaZulu-Natal police are urging officers to always wear their bulletproof vests when attending crime scenes.

Spokesperson Thulani Zwane says they have been saddened by the number of officers killed this year.
83 policemen and woman have been killed in South Africa.
In one of the latest incidents a KZN policeman was gunned down in Isipingo south of Durban.
Zwane says many of the victims were passionate and experienced members of the force.
''To train a police officer takes about two years, and we are spending a lot of money training our officers for their good as well as the public but in the end they get killed by criminals in a second,'' he said.
