KZN now a hotspot for police killings - Popcru
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union has called for the establishment of an independent unit to investigate police killings in KwaZulu-Natal.
Provincial spokesperson Ntabeleng Molefe says it should function the same way as police watchdog, Ipid.
The group's been reacting to the bloody attack on three police officers in uMlazi, south of Durban, on Monday night.
Constable Andile Magwaza died on the scene when two gunman opened fire on the trio on patrol.

Another officer was wounded.
Molefe wants government to take urgent action.
"KZN has already increased the number of police officers that have killed.
"Now we take KZN as a hotspot when it comes to terms of police killings. Those who kill police, when they are arrested, they must never see the sun again and police killings must be treated as treason."
