KZN mom charged with murder of daughter Alexia Nyamadzawo

Police have confirmed the 42-year-old woman charged with the kidnapping and murder of a six-year-old girl - is the child's mother.
Alexia Nyamadzawo's body was found by search and rescue teams - in a sugarcane field near Shakaskraal on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, Fungai Nyamadzawo had claimed her daughter was snatched from the backseat of her car on Sunday – as she approached a speed hump near Shayamoya.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Jay Naicker says she made a brief appearance in the Umhlali Magistrate's Court on Wednesday morning.
"She was charged with murder, defeating the ends of justice, kidnapping and perjury. She was remanded into custody until 10 June for a formal bail hearing to be held," says Naicker.
