KZN MEC urges calm among Sydenham community members
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Community safety authorities in KwaZulu-Natal are appealing for calm following the discovery of the body of a child in Phoenix yesterday.

The body is believed to be that of ten-year-old, Miguel Louw. Miguel went missing in mid-July from outside Rippon Primary School in Sydenham.
In a statement Community Safety MEC, Mxolisi Kaunda says he understands the pain and outrage following yesterday's discovery of the body off Longbury Drive.
He's urged members of the community not to take the law into their own hands and instead allow detectives to investigate the killing and the circumstances around it.

The MEC says he's confident police officers will be able to solve the murder.
Police officials pursuing suspected robbers in the area were yesterday led to the body by a police dog.
Police say the family will view the body today and be given an opportunity to identify him.
A post-mortem and DNA tests have also been scheduled for tomorrow.
