Sphelele Mdletshe was found guilty of shooting Zandile Mkhize multiple times two years ago.
Mkhize had apparently reported him to their manager for returning late from his breaks.
During the trial, the Durban High Court was shown video footage identifying Mdletshe as the shooter.

Mdletshe was sentenced yesterday.
The NPA's KZN spokesperson, Natasha Kara says the sentence is just.
"The Director of Public Prosecutions in KZN, Advocate Elaine Zungu welcomes the sentence and conviction as the accused's actions were both senseless and unwarranted," she says.
