KZN man in court for partner's murder
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
A murder suspect, arrested in KZN, is due to make his first appearance before the Randburg Magistrate's Court in Johannesburg on Monday.
The 30-year-old was detained on Friday in connection with the murder of his girlfriend Mahlaku Rabalao in Midrand.
Her remains were found inside a car that had been set alight in March.
"On their arrival, police found a Mercedes Benz that was on fire. After the fire was extinguished, human remains were found in the front seat of the car," said Gauteng police's Mavela Masondo.
"Police immediately conducted an investigation, and the deceased was identified.
"As police always prioritise cases of gender-based violence, the docket was transferred to the Provincial Investigation Unit and assigned to a seasoned investigating officer who continued with the investigation."
