KZN infant and boy, 4, succumb to COVID-19 related complications

A three-month-old baby girl and four-year-old boy have become the latest young victims of COVID-19 in the province.

The KwaZulu-Natal Health Department says this brings to three the number of coronavirus related paediatric deaths.
Last month, a five-month-old infant who was admitted to Addington Hospital with TB was later found to have contracted COVID-19 and died.

The department says the province recorded 2 058 new cases on Monday.
It says it's the highest number of new infections countrywide.
KZN now ranks third among the provinces with the most number of cases after Gauteng and the Western Cape.
The department says the number of new daily cases continue to be below 3 000 as compared to last week.
