KZN Health slams alleged disregard for workers' safety at Durban hospital
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
KZN Health has denied reports that workers' rights are being violated at Durban's King Edward the Eighth Hospital.

Some employees claim they have not been provided with protective clothing for years.
But the department's Ncumisa Mafunda says they have complied with health and safety regulations.
"Contrary to what is being insinuated, records in our possession show that PPE (personal protective equipment) has been recurred for every financial year. The only challenge we have is centred around the dispute over sizes," she says.

The IFP's Ncamisile Nkwanyana says they want the Human Rights Commission to look into these concerns.
"They don't have the PPE. It's dangerous for a person who is on duty and they are not being protected. If they are injured - are they going to be compensated," she says.
