KZN Health ropes in 'influencers' in vaccination drive

The
KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health is ramping up its vaccination drive in the
province with the launch of an influencers roadshow that will move to all 11
districts.
MEC Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu was joined by Education MEC Kwazi Mshengu at Tuesday morning's launch at the Moses Mabhida People’s Park in Durban.

The team of influencers will include MECs, heads of department, amakhosi, mayors, celebrities and traditional leaders.
Simelane-Zulu said there was a need for this programme.
"We realise that the majority of our people, particularly those what live in townships and rural areas not many many of them have registered.

"So we needed to get a buy-in and we needed to get the influencers to assist us to make sure that our 60 and above are able to some to our facilities and get vaccinated."
