KZN Health responds to SAHRC oncology report

The South African Human Rights Commission is currently studying the KZN Health Department's response to their damning oncology report.

The commission says it received MEC Sibongiseni's Dhlomo's response on Friday.
It found the department had failed cancer patients by violating their right to access to treatment among other things.

The commission's Gail Smith says they will issue a response soon.
"The Human Rights Commission has received a response from the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. We can confirm that we did receive a response very late on Friday afternoon. The commission is studying the report and we will be releasing a statement," she said.
