KZN Health criticised over handling of recruitment drive
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
The Public Service Commission says it was horrified when large groups of applicants pitched up for work at the brand new hospital in KwaMashu this week.

Thousands of job seekers turned up at the Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital - when only 250 were invited.
KZN Health couldn't control the large crowd and had to suspend its nurse recruitment programme.
The Commissioner's chided the department for not taking sensible precautions. Phumelele Nzimande says they're very disappointed."
"What is worrying us is that it's not the first time. Last time we recall there was another massive public recruitment that happened outside Chief Albert Luthuli Hospital."
"The Management there did not learn anything from that. So we reached out and we are going to look at the report they give us and we will hold them to it."
The Department says going forward, candidates - who make the cut - will be contacted personally about the dates for their assessments.
