KZN Health cautions public in eThekwini over pink eye infections

The KZN Health Department says it has recorded a spike in pink eye infections in eThekwini.

MEC Nomagugu Simelane says over 150 cases have been recorded in the City since February.
Symptoms include redness, itchiness, and light sensitivity in one or both eyes.
Simelane says good hygiene practices are a must.

"We are pleading with those who have the virus symptoms not to sit at home, but to urgently visit their nearest clinic to receive medical care.
The public should avoid touching their eyes with their hands, and those who are infected should refrain from attending public facilities, such as schools and avoid close contact with others."
