KZN govt given 30 days to release Moerane Commission report
Provincial government has been given 30 days to release the report of the Moerane Commission of Inquiry into political killings in KZN.
The Right2Know campaign is calling on Premier Willies Mchunu to make the document public or provide reasons as to why he can't do so, within the next month.
The commission was set up in late 2016 to investigate the underlying causes of the politically motivated murders in the province.

Mchunu was handed the final report in June.
The campaign's Mluleki Marongo says the inquiry had been publicly funded and therefore these transcripts need to be made available for transparency.
"This will assist many other organisations and communities to understand the depths of political killings and how serious it is. It's going to allow a lot of people, and establishments to do analysis and perhaps contribute to solution building towards it. It should be the Premier's democratic obligation to send out that report and make it public record to everyone," she said.
