KZN flood victims to take centre stage at Nelson Mandela lecture
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
KZN's flood victims will take centre stage this weekend when the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley delivers the 20th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in Durban.
Saturday's event is being held in KwaZulu-Natal for the first time.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation says it's a demonstration of solidarity with the communities most affected by the catastrophic floods in April.

This year's theme is climate change, as the lecture takes place at the same time as the COP27 summit currently underway in Egypt.
Mottley was awarded the 2021 Champions of the Earth Award by the UN Environmental Programme last year for her work around climate change and its impact on the most vulnerable.
The lecture will be delivered at the Durban International Convention Centre.
