KZN fires: Families who lost homes to receive temporary shelters

Local government has promised the families who lost their homes in veld fires in northern KwaZulu-Natal that their temporary residential units will be ready this weekend.
A man in his 60s was killed in uMlalazi on Sunday.
Muntukabongwa Gazu died from severe burn wounds when the flames tore through his mud house in Ward 1, in the Ezinyosini area.
More than 130 families have been left homeless.
Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma and Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi visited the area on Thursday.

Duma promised the Gazu family a new home,
"Whenever there are emergencies, we must start establishing the TRUs, and we want to thank the role that was played by Minister Kubayi."
Several runaway fires burned through parts of King Cetshwayo, uThukela and uMzinyathi districts.
