KZN Education to prioritise water supply as more pupils return
Updated | By Newswatch
Grade 7 learners at public schools returned to their classrooms on Tuesday.

Its the second batch of pupils to go back to school after a break announced by the President Cyril Ramaphosa last month.
Matric pupils were the first group back last week after a week's holiday.
Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Reginah Mhaule and KZN Education MEC Kwazi Mshengu are visiting schools in the Amajuba District today, monitoring the supply of personal protective equipment and water.
Mshengu says water availability at schools has been a concern for his department, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.
"We thought that we will save more if we build boreholes in our schools and that programme is starting in August.
"That programme we thought is sustainable, but also cost-effective.
We would have reduced the number of schools that rely on water tankers and therefore we would have realised a number of savings from that process and be able to redirect those funds to other projects." says Mshengu.
